Geocaching isn’t as popular as it used to be. Google Trends shows that interest peaked in 2011 and has been at 25% of the peak since then, with a downward trend. Doesn’t matter, lots of things have had more adherents in the past but are still just as good.
If you don’t know what Geocaching is, if you like to spend time outdoors and if you like treasure hunts, I recommend you look it up. I found my first Geocache in 2013 and I’ve had the app (I recommend this one since it’s open source and free) on my phone since then. I find 5-10 caches a year while I’m out on hikes or when I’m traveling, and often the search makes me take side trails and explore spots I wouldn’t otherwise.
