Just Sit Far Enough Across the Lake: A poem by Brown Rice Ronin

I don’t want to remove myself from humanity
Just sit far enough
Across the lake
That the sounds of construction
Can be mistaken for
Falling
Water

This is a poem someone who calls themselves Brown Rice Ronin published on their Substack. It’s a sentiment I share, but cannot express eloquently. It’s also not a new sentiment.

I like some of the other poems too. One, called Bar Rain, is about a feeling I know well, and which I have felt in the exact context and place described in the poem.
