Penn’s Sunday School: A magical podcast

Every once in a while, I listen to a podcast called Penn’s Sunday School. The host is magician Penn Jillette, the talkative part of the long-running Las Vegas duo, Penn and Teller.

Jillette has the gift of gap. He’s definitely in the top percentile, and maybe in the top percentile of the top percentile, in terms of talking ability. You may assume that the words coming out of magician’s mouth are mostly bullshit, but that’s not true in Jillette’s case. A lot of what he’s saying is actually interesting. This is mostly a function of him being interesting. He also seems to be admirable in other ways. Here’s a quote:

That whole idea that everybody else is going crazy on the internet sickens me. I can tell when something is garbage. You can tell. Who are all these mysterious people that can’t?

Penn Jillette

I came across Jillette’s podcast because I like magic. I used to watch their TV show Fool Us, which is now in its eleventh season. If you have some time to kill, you could do worse than to look up the episodes that are available for free on YouTube.

Here is a list of other podcasts I like.
